The ASEAN ESG Awards 2026 category is designed to recognize and honor outstanding businesses, organizations, and leaders with excellent achievements in implementing, practicing, and disseminating ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) values. By recognizing effective governance models, sustainable development initiatives, and pioneering examples, the award contributes to promoting the adoption of ESG standards in the ASEAN business community, enhancing competitiveness, increasing brand value, and making a positive contribution to the region's sustainable development goals.
1. ELIGIBILITY FOR THE ASEAN 2026 AWARD
Corporations, corporations, economic organizations, training institutions, hospitals, schools, businesses, entrepreneurs, cooperatives… both domestic and foreign, in all sectors, with legitimate and effective business operations in Vietnam and internationally, possessing a reputable community, demonstrating respect for the law, social responsibility, and voluntarily agreeing to and meeting the criteria for participation in the program.
2. THE NECESSITY OF MANDATORY ESG STANDARDS
In the context of a rapidly transforming global economy, ESG (Environmental - Social - Governance) is no longer an "option" but has become a measure of the core values of each business. Practicing ESG not only helps optimize resources and minimize risks, but also serves as a "passport" for businesses to expand internationally, attract investment, and build strong customer trust.
International ESG ranking criteria such as MSCI, Refinitiv, Sustainalytics, RepRisk, and Bloomberg have become important measures for assessing the level of sustainable development of businesses. Studies and practices worldwide show that pioneering businesses that effectively implement ESG often achieve a higher competitive advantage, improve business efficiency, attract foreign investment, build trust with investors and the community, and increase brand value in the long term.
